"You need have no fear of any failure" - 2018
inks and gofun on Korean paper
This ongoing series of inks and gofun - oyster shell powder - on Korean paper is a work of personal exploration.
This body of work allows us to see its evolution, its tensions and respites.
The title of the series is based on the last words of British explorer Percy Fawcett.
In a letter to his wife while he was on an expedition in the Brazilian jungle in search of a lost city, these words are the last proof that he was still alive in 1924 before his loss.
These words embody the burning paradox of the implacable and overwhelming desire to explore the unknown at the risk of losing oneself forever.
